Getting Your Back Fixed

Few things are more frustrating than dealing with a bad back. Unfortunately, I found myself in that situation a few months back after I sprained my back lifting my baby. It was absolutely debilitating, but I knew that I was going to have to live with it. I kept trying to clean my house, look after my kids, and handle my daily chores, but the pain just kept getting worse. Fortunately, a friend of mine recommended a great chiropractor that could help. He adjusted my back and things started to get better. This blog is all about the benefits of working with a professional.

You can feel it coming on. That sudden pounding in your head and the need to be alone in a dark room away from even the slightest noise. You are not alone. Twelve percent of the population actually suffers from migraines on a nearly daily basis. It is a pain like nothing you have ever experienced. Luckily, you don't have to suffer the pain, especially if you don't like using over-the-counter medications. There are many organic solutions that you can try at home. Once the pain begins, try using one of the natural remedies that are listed below and kick the headache before it has a chance to turn into a full blown migraine.

Lavender Oil

Lavender oil is an essential oil that has many health benefits. One of which is stopping a headache before it turns into a migraine. This is because lavender is a natural stress reliever. This solution can be used in two ways: inhaling the vapors or using it topically.

If you wish to inhale the vapors all you need to boil five drops of lavender oil for every three cups of water. Once it comes to a boil, pour the solution into a bowl. Drape a towel over your head and the bowl and inhale deeply several times. Within in minutes, you will start to feel relief from the pain.

Using this solution topically is very simple. Squeeze three drops of the oil on your finger tip, lie down in a dark and noise free room and massage the oil into the pain zone. Lavender oil is safe enough to use without first diluting it with water.

Basil Oil

Basil oil is a natural muscle relaxant and will help to ease tension and relax muscles in your body. There are several different derivatives of basil oil, so you need to purchase an oil that is pure and potent for the best results. Because the potency plays a factor in the healing power of the basil, the more potent it is, the most diluted it will have to be. You can dilute this oil with a less potent essential oil like almond oil or grape seed oil for the best results.

It is best if you use basil oil topically. For every two drops of basil oil, squeeze in one drop of almond or grape seed oil in a small bowl. Dip your finger in the mixture and massage your temples.

Feverfew

Feverfew is a flower that is one of the best remedies for treating headaches and migraines. Feverfew works in a few different ways. A migraine is caused when your blood vessels begin to constrict because of the release of serotonin. Feverfew counteracts this and causes your blood vessels to dilates and helps the blood flow throughout your body.

The best way to use feverfew to treat a migraine is by either eating the leaves or by boiling the leaves in water to make a tea. Both techniques are quick and easy to do, although drinking a feverfew tea is the most popular.

When the pain of a migraine begins, it is only a matter of time before you are on your back not wanting to see the light of day; literally. You don't have to use over-the-counter medication to kick the headache. By using one of the natural and effective solutions listed above, you can get back on track to enjoying a pain free day.
